Carrick Range

What you can expect

A popular historical attraction, Carrick Range is positioned amid spectacular mountains in a scenic valley that features widespread evidence of hard-rock gold mining, which had persisted in the region for decades. Some of Carrick Range’s most notable attractions include a huge waterwheel and a virtually unchanged goldfield, accessible via a mostly ascending 14.7km walking or 4WD track departing Bannockburn. The track from Bannockburn passes a number of historical sites, including Quartzville and Carricktown, stone remains, battery foundations, tailings, stone dams and underground workings.
